Four signs the gas is low
Any one of these is worth a pressure check.
It cools, but slowly
Same setting, takes twice as long to get there.
Ice on the pipes
Frost on the copper at the outdoor unit is a classic low-gas sign.
The outdoor unit runs constantly
It's working harder to do less.
You topped it up last year
Gas doesn't get used up. If it's low again, it's leaking.
How a proper gas job runs
Find the leak, fix the leak, then fill it.
Pressure read first
Gauges on before anything else, to confirm it's actually gas.
Leak traced
Nitrogen or a leak detector, depending on the unit.
Leak repaired
Flare joint, valve or a brazed pipe, whatever it turns out to be.
System vacuumed
Moisture and air pulled out before the new gas goes in.
Charged by weight
The right amount for your unit, not a guess off the gauge.
Cooling tested
We check the temperature drop before we pack up.

What our Penang customers say
Messages people sent us after the job was done.
Quoted me RM60 per unit for a standard service and that's exactly what I paid — no add-ons, no surprise charges after. Technician was fast and tidy. Both units blowing cold again. Very happy with Zarina.
The unit in my living room had a horrible smell and was barely cooling. After the chemical wash the smell completely gone, feels like a new aircon. Room cools down in maybe 10 minutes now. Should have called earlier!
Did full chemical wash on 3 units at my shop — all badly clogged and smelling. Zarina team came in the morning, finished by lunch, price same as quoted. All 3 units cooling like new. Will book them again every 6 months.

How much is an aircon gas refill in Penang?
From RM90 per wall mounted unit. The final number depends on how much gas your unit takes and which type it uses. Cassette and ducted units are priced from a photo.
Why does my aircon keep needing gas?
Because gas doesn't get used up. A sealed system holds its charge for years. If it's low, it's leaking, and topping it up without finding the leak means paying for gas twice.
Do you use R32 or R410A?
Both, plus R22 for older units. We check what's on your outdoor unit's plate and use that. Mixing types wrecks a compressor.
Can you top it up without fixing the leak?
We'd rather not, and we'll say so. If you want it done anyway to get through a hot week we'll do it, but you should know it'll be back where it started.
How long does it take?
About an hour for a straightforward top-up. Longer if the leak takes finding, and we'll tell you before the clock starts.
Is low gas dangerous?
Not to you, but it's hard on the compressor. Running a unit low on refrigerant is the fastest way to kill the most expensive part in it.
